Winsted Police 1-27-12

The following information was provided by the Winsted Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Disorderly conduct

James W. Maguire, 54, 78 Overlook Rd., Winsted, was arrested Jan. 23 and charged with disorderly conduct stemming from an incident that occurred Jan. 12. He was released on a $750 court bond and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6.

Larceny and forgery

Gary Fecto, 41, 32 Washington St., Torrington, was arrested Jan. 23 and charged with sixth degree larceny and third degree forgery stemming from an incident Dec. 15. A $3,000 surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court that same day. Fecto was later arrested Jan. 23 on a warrant for second degree failure to appear. A bond was set at $1,500, and he was again scheduled to appear Jan. 23.

Assault, breach of peace

Brandi Lebel, 34, 200 Old North Rd., Barkhamsted, was arrested Jan. 17 and charged with third degree assault and breach of peace following a disturbance in front of Stop & Shop. A $500 non-surety bond was set, and she was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 30.

Bernard J. Lebel Jr., 36, 200 Old North Rd., Barkhamsted, was arrested Jan. 17 and charged with third degree assault and breach of peace following a disturbance in front of Stop & Shop. A $500 non-surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 30.  

Disorderly conduct

Russell Mosher, 42, 493 N. Main St., Winsted, was arrested Jan. 17 and charged with disorderly conduct and second degree unlawful restraint in a domestic incident. A $500 surety bond was set, and he was scheduled to appear in court later that day.

Disorderly conduct

Misty Jaquins, 24, 53 Chestnut St., apt. 2, Winsted, was arrested Jan. 15 and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal violation of a protective order following a disturbance at 19 Park Place, apt. 10, Winsted. A $1,000 non-surety bond was set, and she was scheduled to appear in court Jan. 17.

On Tuesday, April 9, The Bardavon 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie was the setting for a talk between Elizabeth Lesser and Anne Lamott, with the focus on Lamott’s newest book, “Somehow: Thoughts on Love.”

A best-selling novelist, Lamott shared her thoughts about the book, about life’s learning experiences, as well as laughs with the audience. Lesser, an author and co-founder of the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, interviewed Lamott in a conversation-like setting that allowed watchers to feel as if they were chatting with her over a coffee table.

The home in Sharon that Alexandra Peters and her husband, Fred, have owned for the past 20 years feels like a mini museum. As you walk through the downstairs rooms, you’ll see dozens of examples from her needlework sampler collection. Some are simple and crude, others are sophisticated and complex. Some are framed, some lie loose on the dining table.

Many of them have museum cards, explaining where those samplers came from and why they are important.
