BARKHAMSTED — The Riverton Fair provided fun for young and old from Friday, Oct. 12, to Sunday, Oct. 14.

The fair has been held for the past 109 years and included a Ferris wheel, merry–go–rounds, a giant slide and other carnival rides.

There were also agricultural competitions including an oxen pull, fruit and vegetable growing, baking and art contests and even a skillet throw.

The event was organized by the Union Agricultural Society of Barkhamsted, Colebrook and Hartland.
