Anthony 'Tony' Sperrazza

Gallatin, N.Y. — Anthony “Tony†Sperrazza, 83, died Jan. 18, 2010, at Noble Horizons.

He was born on April 12, 1926, in Manhattan, N.Y., the son of the late Maria (AcQuisda) and John Sperrazza.

Mr. Sperrazza was owner and operator of the East 37 St. Parking Garage in New York City.  

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  

Survivors include his dearly beloved Nedda Marus of Gallatin.

Calling hours were held Jan. 20 at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home in Pine Plains and Jan. 21 at Frederick Funeral Home in Flushing, N.Y.  

Graveside services were Jan. 22 at the Sperrazza family plot in Gallatin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Road, Hudson, NY 12534; or Milan Rescue Squad, 250 Williams Road, Milan, NY 12571.

A five-time Grammy winner, Cray has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and earned The Americana Music Awards Lifetime Achievement for Performance. He has played with blues and rock icons including Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton and many more.

Cabaret comes to St. Andrew's in Kent

Music in the Nave will again tap into local talent April 6 at 7 p.m. when its features George Potts in an intimate cabaret concert in the St. Andrew’s Church parish house.

Pott is a well-known figure in the community, both through his presence in the perennially popular Fife ‘n Drum, the restaurant started by his father-in-law, renowned pianist Dolph Trayman, and through his own career as a folk musician.
