Pine Plains FFA nurtures student leadership through community outreach

PINE PLAINS — Driven by the national FFA motto, “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve,” members of the Pine Plains FFA have made every effort to show their support for the local community while building essential leadership skills.
There are currently 35 active student members involved in the Pine Plains chapter of the FFA. The fall is one of the best seasons to witness students in action at the annual Ag Fair, though students consistently work to raise awareness of the organization throughout the year.

What the Housatonic FFA means to students and the wider community

FFA students at Housatonic Valley Regional High School are busy throughout the year with everything from competing against students from all across America in the annual Envirothon, to participating in national conventions, to activities closer to home such as caring for the animals who live on campus (even during vacations). 
The community is invited in several times a year to see what the students have been doing.

Celebrating National FFA Week, Feb. 20-27

This year’s theme is Amplify! and it embraces more than 85 years of FFA traditions while looking forward to the organization’s future. More than half a million members will participate in National FFA Week activities at local, state and national levels. These members have a passion for agriculture.
