Readers of all ages celebrated during Library Card Sign Up Month

NorthEast-Millerton Library Director Rhianon Leo-Jameson chose September, Library Card Sign Up Month, as the perfect time to fulfill her promise to color her hair in honor of the summer reading program. Teal was the choice of Logan Miller, who won the honor of picking the color by completing the most books. MILLERTON — Some librarians will do anything to encourage youngsters to read and to get their own library cards. That includes NorthEast-Millerton Library Director Rhiannon Leo-Jameson who has given new meaning to the phrase “Going Green.”

As part of the summer reading program, she committed to allowing whichever reader completed the most books to pick a new color for her hair. Logan Miller, the son of Scott and Lisa, won the competition and promptly chose teal.
