Spraying along railroad still a concern

CORNWALL — The Housatonic Railroad has continued to spray herbicide along the railway tracks in Cornwall, despite concerns expressed by the town, the state and by private citizens.

The topic came under discussion by the Cornwall Board of Selectmen at their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The selectmen agreed to take the matter back to the railroad and state officials for resolution.

Spraying was reported to the selectmen by a resident, who witnessed it near the tracks in West Cornwall on Friday, Aug. 23.
