HILLSDALE — Gail M. Killmer, 62, a longtime resident of Hillsdale and formerly of Millerton, died Dec. 27, 2011, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.She was born June 26, 1949, in Mahopac, N.Y., the daughter of Freda (Houghtaling) Harpp of Millerton and the late William Harpp.On Dec. 22, 1969, in Pine Plains, she married Walter R. Killmer, who survives at home.Gail was previously employed as an aide, cook and activity director for Timberlyn Heights Nursing Home in Great Barrington.In addition to her loving husband and her mother, she is survived by a son, Steven Killmer of Hillsdale; a sister, Beverly MacDonald of Millerton; and two grandsons, Shane and Cole Hotaling of Copake.She was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Hotaling, in 2006; and a brother, Robert Harpp, in 2010.Private interment will be in the West Copake Cemetery at the convenience of the family.Memorial donations may be sent to the Community Rescue Squad, PO Box 327, Copake NY 12516,Arrangements are under the care of the Peck and Peck Funeral Home in Copake. Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”

He has played with blues and rock icons including Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton and many more.
