Getting children (really) excited about books

NORTH CANAAN — For preschoolers the Douglas Library in North Canaan was the place to be on Monday evening, June 24. 

It was Preschool Literacy Night, sponsored by the Northwest Child Care Collaborative, the Canaan Child Care Center and the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, which donated books to the event. Every preschooler went home with a copy of “A Tree Named Steve” by Alan Zweibel.
