Trash alternatives for Amenia residents Welsh Sanitation offers more details

AMENIA — In the June 13 edition of The Millerton News, it was stated that Welsh Sanitation Services collaborated with the Amenia Town Board to amend its contract and continue its services. The agreement between the town and Welsh Sanitation Services was originally initiated in October of 2012 with the purpose of operating and maintaining the town residential refuse and recycling center, known as the Amenia Transfer Station, in mind. 

However, due to a decline in customers and new compliance regulations, Welsh shut down the transfer station last March.
