Giving Thanks

Seventeen members of Webutuck’s Teens Encouraging Athletes to be Mentors (TEAM) visited the Millerton First Presbyterian Church on Monday, Nov. 21, to help put together 43 holiday food baskets. This is the group’s 12th year in existence and its 10th year helping with Thanksgiving baskets. Food for the baskets was collected and donated by the Sunday in the Country Food Drive, Thriftique, the Millerton Farmers Market and members of the community. TEAM organizer Mark Moren said that the student athletes help out with the food baskets as a way of giving back to the community.

After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
