NORTH CANAAN — Anyone looking for children’s books can now come to the North Canaan Town Hall and visit the Little Free Library at the entrance.

The library, which was a small refrigerator in a previous life, is the brainchild of Barb Johnson and her sister, Judy Warner.

Johnson said, “I just wanted to give something back to the town, which is the most magical place on Earth.”

The Little Free Library is an international phenomenon, started in 2009 by Todd H. Bol.

The idea is simple: Take a book or leave a book.
