Microcells to be the subject of a summer forum

CORNWALL — Responding to town residents’ concerns about potential health hazards stemming from installation of enhanced telecommunication systems, particularly radio frequency microcells, the Cornwall Board of Selectmen decided at their meeting on Tuesday, May 7, to organize an informational forum for this summer.

“Microcells seem to be a hot issue of the day,” First Selectman Gordon Ridgway said, adding that he is trying to learn more about the subject. He also plans to talk with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).
