Highway Department is reimbursed by the state


Pine Plains — The town’s Highway Department has “rolled forward” a couple of years worth of state-funded money — not grants — allocated in the state budget. It’s helped the town pay for important road work.

The money, which was allocated based on a formula of how many lane miles the town has — 38.52 to be exact — is in the neighborhood of $120,000. 

“I would say it’s almost three years of funding,” said Pine Plains Highway Superintendent Heather Wilson.
