Five Points OK to buy former UConn campus

TORRINGTON — The University of Connecticut Board of Directors voted unanimously on Monday, Dec. 17, to allow Torrington’s Five Points Center for the Visual Arts to purchase the University of Connecticut’s (UConn) Torrington campus. 

UConn closed the Torrington campus in April 2016 due to declining enrollment. In May 2018, the university put out a Request for Expressions of Interest  (RFEI) in the 95-acre property; at that time, it seemed likely that EdAdvance would purchase the land and three buildings on it.
