New town law: Please don’t feed the bears

FALLS VILLAGE — The Falls Village Board of Selectmen approved a town ordinance on the feeding of bears at the regular monthly meeting of the board on Monday, Oct. 15.

The ordinance is designed to discourage people from actively feeding bears, and gives the selectmen wide latitude in the matter of fines.

The ordinance will be one of several items on the agenda at a town meeting. First Selectman Henry Todd said he thinks the town meeting will be scheduled for early January 2019.
