Racing for cancer research in memory of Erin Shanley

PINE PLAINS — Returning for its eighth year in the Pine Plains community, the Erin Shanley Memorial 5K Race and Pancake Breakfast saw an outstanding showing of runners and walkers on Sunday, Aug. 19, to honor Shanley’s memory and support cancer research.

Shanley was a star field hockey player who passed away in 2004 when she was as a junior at Stissing Mountain High School. She was 16 when she died from injuries sustained in a car crash.
