Gerald M. Rassman

SHARON — Gerald M. Rassman went to be with the Lord on Aug. 1, 2018.

Gerald was born on Nov. 8, 1947, in Sharon, to the late Ernest “Fred” Rassman and Helen Arias. After graduating from Webutuck High School, he proudly served in the Navy. He later worked as a correctional officer and retired from Green Haven Correctional Facility.

Gerry leaves behind his devoted wife, Joyce Rassman; his sister, Linda Sawchuk; his daughters, Heather Blatz, Lisa Phillips and Kim Camacho; and a son Robert Gover, along with their families. He was a loving and loved Poppy to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his beloved nieces, nephews and friends, especially his hunting and fishing buddies.

Everyone who knew Razz, loved him. He was a man of God and let His light shine on others. He lived a life of integrity and honored God, family, and country.  He will be forever cherished by everyone whose life was touched by him.

His family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff at The Heart Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center for their attentive, compassionate care.

As per his wishes, there will be no services. “When you think of me, remember the great times we’ve had together. Put a smile on your face and laugh.”

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which were near and dear to his heart.

The Kenny Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
