Closing date still not set for maternity unit

SHARON, Conn. – A meeting of the Sharon selectmen about plans to curtail maternity services at Sharon Hospital ended with a decision to hold another meeting, on Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. It is hoped that representatives from different sides of the issue will attend that meeting and work together toward a resolution. 

About 25 residents attended the selectmen’s discussion on Tuesday, July 24, with Peter Cordeau, president of Sharon Hospital; and Herbert and Lydia Moore, who are spearheading the Save the Hospital grassroots campaign.
