Narcan training encourages discussion about opioids


MILLERTON— Local residents wanting to learn more about administering Narcan and recognizing signs of an overdose attended a training program at the NorthEast-Millerton Library Annex on Thursday, July 26.

Led by Sharon Stramm, an EMT and certified Narcan trainer with the Millerton Rescue Squad, the program had 14 in attendance. To tie local statistics into the training, Stramm reported that the Millerton Rescue Squad has already responded to two overdoses this year, administering Narcan in both cases.
