William Kreiling Jr.

MILLERTON — William Kreiling Jr., 83, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away July 30, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 9, 1935, in Queens, N.Y., to the late Bertha and William Kreiling Sr. 

He started at an early age working for his father to build William Kreiling Fuel Oil. 

Bill owned and operated B&B Service in Millerton, drove a bus for Webutuck Central Schools and retired as a supervisor with Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT). 

He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves (1957-1966) and was a former Master of Webutuck Lodge 480 of F&AM in Millerton.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice (Christiansen); his daughter, Deborah and her husband, Lance Middlebrook, of Millerton; three sons, William Kreiling III and his wife, Ann, Richard and James Kreiling, all of Sarasota; a brother, Donald Kreiling and his wife, Ann, of Liverpool, N.Y.; three grandchildren, William IV, Casey and Lucas; and four great-grandchildren, Braden, Carter, Mica and Afton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, in 2012, and Charles, in 2015; and three granddaughters, Joanne in 1987, Jessica in 1989 and Amanda in 1998.

Services were private. Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
