Best of Norfolk showcased in weekend-long festival

NORFOLK — On most weekends, Norfolk, with a population of 1,632, is a quiet little town.

But during the third annual Weekend In Norfolk (WIN), the town was bursting with activities that included live concerts, art shows, tours of historic buildings and even a hot dog-eating contest.

This year’s WIN weekend began Friday, Aug. 3, and continued through Sunday, Aug. 5. Thirty-five local businesses and organizations took part.

One of the co-organizers for the event was Dawn Whalen, executive director of the Norfolk Foundation.
