TAX NOTICE 

TOWN OF CANAAN

The Tax Collector of the Town of Canaan gives notice that she will be ready to receive Motor Vehicle taxes and the 1st installment of Real Estate & Personal Property taxes due July 1, 2018 at the Tax Collector’s office in the Canaan Town Hall, 108 Main St, Falls Village, CT on Monday’s  9-3pm and Wednesday 9 - 12pm. Payments must be received or postmarked by August 1, 2018. 

All taxes remaining unpaid after August 1, 2018 will be charged interest from July 1, 2018 at the rate of 1.5% for each month elapsing from the due date of the delinquent tax to the date of payment, with a minimum interest charge of $2.00. Sec. 12-146.

Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer of his/her responsibility for the payment of taxes or delinquent charges. Sec. 12-130.

CANAAN FIRE DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given to all taxpayers of the North Canaan Fire District that July taxes on the Grand List of October 2017 will become due and payable on July 1, 2018 and will become delinquent if not paid on or before August 1, 2018.

As soon as any tax becomes delinquent, it shall be subject to interest at the rate of one and one-half percent of such tax for each month or fraction thereof which elapses from the time when such tax becomes due and payable until the same is paid. The minimum interest charge will be $2.00. 

The Tax Collector’s Office is located in the Town Hall at 100 Pease Street, North Canaan, Connecticut. During the month of July we will be open: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9-12 and 1-4, Monday, July 2 & July 30th, we are open 9-12 and 1-4 PM. We will be closed Wednesday, July 4th. Payments may be mailed to 100 Pease St # 5, North Canaan, Connecticut 06018. Pay online at www.northcanaan.org. Last day to pay Aug 1. Dated at North Canaan, Connecticut this day 7th of June 2018.

TOWN OF NORTH CANAAN

CONNECTICUT

Notice is hereby given to all taxpayers of the Town of North Canaan, Connecticut that the first installment of taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2018 will become due and payable on July 1, 2018 and will become delinquent if not paid on or before August 1, 2018. Tax bills of $100 or less are due in full on or before August 1, 2018. Tax bills over $100 are payable in two installments, the first by August 1, 2018 and the second by February 1, 2019.
