Priscilla B. Fordyce

SALISBURY — Priscilla B. Fordyce, 92, died July 9, 2018, at Noble Horizons.  

Born on Sept. 15, 1925, in Rumford, R.I., she was the daughter of Dorothy and Arthur Briden. She attended East Providence schools and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in mathematics.  

After graduation, she moved to Pittsfield, Mass., and worked as an assistant engineer for GE.  

On Sept. 27, 1952, Priscilla was married to William J. Fordyce of Schenectady, N.Y., and lived there until 1961 when they moved to Vestal, N.Y.  

She was employed by Broome County Social Services and retired from that agency in 1989 having worked as a supervisor of eligibility in the Food Stamps Department.  

In 2002 she moved to Lake George, N.Y.  

Priscilla always loved the out-of-doors: camping, hiking, swimming and especially downhill skiing.  She engaged in that sport mostly at Greek Peek near Cortland, N.Y., where her husband was a 50-year member of the National Ski Patrol. 

Priscilla was predeceased by her husband, who died in 1996.  

She is survived by her three children and five grandchildren, William A. and spouse Mary Fordyce of Lakeville, and their son William H. and spouse Anna Fordyce of Eliot, Maine,  Sally and spouse Ronald Mogren and their twin children, Tucker and Molly of Lake George,   Bradley and spouse Melissa Fordyce and their children Elizabeth and Jack of Gansevoort, N.Y.  

Donations in her memory may be made to The FUND for Lake George, 2199 State Route 9, Lake George, NY 12845.  

A celebration of life for Priscilla will be held in the Lake George area, date and location to be determined.

Arrangements are under the care of the Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon.
