SALISBURY — John Leland, a New York Times reporter, will speak at Noble Horizons on Saturday, July 14, 11 a.m., about his book, “Happiness Is a Choice You Make: Lessons from a year among the oldest old.”

Leland spent a year interviewing elderly people — 85 years and up — for a series in that newspaper.

In a phone interview on Wednesday, July 27, Leland said he was interested in learning “what old age looked like to the people living it.”
