NORFOLK — Since 1907, mountain laurel has been Connecticut’s state flower. 

This flowering bush peaks most years in late spring; the Rev. Savage Frieze caught a photo of these blooms in Norfolk on Monday, June 25. Haystack Mountain is a famous destination for hikers who would like to see the white or pink blossoms in their native habitat.
