Leona R. Bonhotel

SHARON — Leona R. Bonhotel, 89, formerly of Sharon, passed away April 3, 2011, at the Pinehaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Irving W. Bonhotel, who died in 1972. She was born in North Canaan on Dec. 27, 1921. She and her husband were employed at the Wike farm in Sharon. She also worked as a cook in Lakeville for the Hubbard family and for many years was a therapy aide at the Taconic DDSO in Wassaic. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo and card games.She is survived by her sister, Iva Thomas of Pawling, N.Y.; four children, Louise H. Miller of Burke, N.Y., Alyce M. Cluff of Craryville, N.Y., Phillip A. Bonhotel of Sharon and Frederick I. Bonhotel of Holland Patent, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held Friday, April 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Kenny Funeral Home in Sharon, the Rev. Henry Prause officiating.

Water main cleaning in North Canaan

NORTH CANAAN – Aquarion Water Company today announced a water main cleaning project in the company’s North Canaan system. The project is scheduled to take place from Monday, April 1 through Tuesday, April 16, and is being undertaken to ensure customers in North Canaan continue to receive the highest quality water.

Blues legend Robert Cray will be bringing his stinging, funky guitar and soulful singing to Infinity Hall Norfolk on Friday, March 29.

A five-time Grammy winner, Cray has been inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and earned The Americana Music Awards Lifetime Achievement for Performance. He has played with blues and rock icons including Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Eric Clapton and many more.

Cabaret comes to St. Andrew's in Kent

Music in the Nave will again tap into local talent April 6 at 7 p.m. when its features George Potts in an intimate cabaret concert in the St. Andrew’s Church parish house.

Pott is a well-known figure in the community, both through his presence in the perennially popular Fife ‘n Drum, the restaurant started by his father-in-law, renowned pianist Dolph Trayman, and through his own career as a folk musician.
