Luminous, Tactile Paintings Featured at Argazzi

At first you might think Sandrine Kern creates her gorgeous pictures now at Argazzi Art with encaustic, but you would be wrong. Instead of that hot wax technique, Kern combines oil sticks, oil paint and cold wax for her deep, thick surfaces. She then scrapes away some layers with solvents or knife, leaving a surface of ridges and valleys, rich and tactile.
