Edward Henry Murphy

MILLERTON — Edward Henry Murphy, 65, a 14-year resident of Millerton and formerly of LaGrangeville, N.Y., died peacefully at home on June 5, 2018, with his loving family at his side. 

Ed was the owner and president of Tri-County Auto Glass in Lagrangeville from 1983 to May 2018. 

Born June 4, 1953, in Berlin, Germany, he was the son of the late Helga and Robert Murphy. Ed was a graduate of Millbrook High School. 

On June 4, 1977, in Mahopac, N.Y., he married Deborah L. Coelho. Mrs. Murphy survives at home. 

Ed enjoyed gardening, reading, kayaking on area lakes, biking and sailing on the Hudson River. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his home on Nantucket for more than 17 years.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, Ed is survived by two children, Christopher Murphy and his wife, Stephanie, of Maricopa, Ariz., and Erin Miller and her husband, Dennis, of Copake Lake, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, John, Kaiya, Max and Sebastian Murphy and Gretchen Miller.

Arrangements are under the care of the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home in Millerton. 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 9, at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls, the Rev. Walt Zelley officiating.
