Bidding to begin for transfer station

SALISBURY — First Selectman Curtis Rand said at the June 4 meeting of the Salisbury Board of Selectmen that the bidding documents for the new Salisbury-Sharon transfer station should be out to bid by the end of June.

Rand said the federal Department of Agriculture has been tweaking the plans to account for current financial and legal conditions — the price of steel, for instance, or provisions requiring American-made materials.
