Why Prohibition continues to resonate today

FALLS VILLAGE — The First Tuesday at Seven series of talks got off to an entertaining start Tuesday, June 5, with David Bayersdorfer’s pocket history of the factors that led up to Prohibition and their repercussions today.

Bayersdorfer, a former social studies teacher at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, opened by citing his sources: “Last Call” by Daniel Okrent, the Ken Burns documentary series on Prohibition, and the Constitution of the United States, a copy of which he kept handy throughout his teaching career.
