Library Earth Day events focus on children

MILLERTON— Earth Day is always a good day according to wise-beyond-her-seven years Zoe Briggs, because “We have to take good care of the Earth because we have to live on it, and so do the animals.”

The visiting Saugerties resident was celebrating the day by getting a refresher course in chess from her “Grampy,” Dan Briggs of Millerton, as they moved pieces around the super-sized set on the recently created Memorial Garden lawn in front of the North-East Millerton Library.
