Library lecture examines Roosevelt family’s role in segregated America

PINE PLAINS— A pair of local residents learned of the Roosevelt family’s stance on racial discrimination and segregation at a lecture at the Community Center above the Pine Plains Free Library on Monday, March 12. Despite the small turnout, the information was interesting and informative.
Jeff Urbin, an education specialist from the FDR Presidential Library, referred to the topic as a “mixed record.” Urbin tried to provide some context.
