TAX COLLECTOR

TOWN OF SALISBURY CT

Pursuant to Sec. 12-145 of the Connecticut State Statutes, the taxpayers of the Town of Salisbury are hereby notified that the fourth installment on the Grand List of October 1, 2016 is due and payable on April 1, 2018. Payments must be received or postmarked by May 1, 2018. If said Real Estate and Personal Property taxes are not paid on or before May 1, 2018, interest at the rate of one and one half percent (18% per year) will be added for each month or a fraction thereof which elapses from the time when such tax becomes due and payable until the same is paid. Minimum interest charge is $2.00.

Pursuant to Section 12-173 of the Connecticut State Statutes, unpaid Real Estate tax on the Grand List of October 1, 2016 will be LIENED on JUNE 1, 2018.  Payment must be received by 12:00 p.m. on  June 1, 2018 to avoid a Lien.

Taxes can be paid by mail addressed to: Tax Collector, P.O. BOX 338, Salisbury CT 06068 or at the Town Hall, 27 Main Street, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dated at Town of Salisbury CT this 12th day of March 2018.

BOARD OF FINANCE

All Registered Voters and Property Owners in the Town of Sharon are hereby Warned and Notified that a public hearing will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall for the purpose of reviewing the Board of Selectmen’s and the Board of Education’s proposed budgets for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019.  Copies of the proposed budgets are available at the Town Hall and on the Town Website.

The Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Salisbury will hold a Public Hearing on the following application on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 6:45 PM in the upstairs meeting room of the Salisbury Town Hall:

Application #2018-0073 for a Special Permit to construct an accessory apartment per Section 208.1 of the Salisbury Zoning Regulations. This property is located at 70 Race Track Road, Lakeville and is in the RR-1 Zone District. NOTICE OF 

TOWN MEETING

MAY 9, 2018

The electors and others entitled to vote in Town meetings of the Town of Salisbury, Connecticut, are hereby warned that the Annual Budget meeting of said Town will be held at the Salisbury Town Hall, 27 Main Street, Salisbury, Connecticut on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. for the following purposes:

1. To act upon the budget and any supplements thereto for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, which budget has been prepared and recommended by the Board of Finance; said budget is available for inspection at the Town Clerk’s office immediately.
     2. To act upon the following items, which are customarily considered at the Annual Budget meeting for approval:
a. To authorize the Board of Selectmen to borrow any sums of money they deem necessary to meet the Town’s indebtedness and current or authorized expenditures, and to execute and deliver the Town’s obligations therefore;
b. To see if the First Selectman will deliver on behalf of the Town all documents that may be necessary for carrying out any of the items in the budget;
c. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to accept and expend any funds allocated to the Town of Salisbury by the Connecticut Department of Transportation for repairs and maintenance of roads and bridges during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and extending to June 30, 2019, as recommended by the Board of Finance; and
d. To authorize the Board of Finance to transfer funds from surplus to cover shortages in various line items in the 2017-2018 budget.
  3. To act upon the approval of an expenditure not to exceed $2,521,000.00 for improvements to the Water Pollution Control Authority plant at 50 Walton Street and portions of its associated collection system.

4. To act upon the approval of a rental agreement for a duplex apartment at property owned by the Town and located at 414 Millerton Road for a term of one year, beginning on or about June 15, 2018, with the identity of the tenant and the final terms of the lease to be determined by a majority of the Board of Selectmen.

5. To act upon the approval of a rental agreement for the operation of an ice cream parlor in two unoccupied rooms at property owned by the Town and known as the former Lakeville Train Station, for a period of six months, to Seth Churchill or another tenant selected by a majority of the Board of Selectmen, with the final terms of the lease to be determined by a majority of the Board of Selectmen.

6. To act upon the approval of the designation of the Elizabeth M. Case House, located at 4 Main Street, and the Landowska House, located at 63 Millerton Road, as Historic Properties in the Town of Salisbury.
    7. To do any other business proper to come before said meeting.Dated at Salisbury, Connecticut this 13th day of April, 2018.

The Board of Finance of the Town of Canaan (Falls Village) will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 30th, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Lee H. Kellogg School. The purpose of the meeting is to hear public comment on the proposed spending plan of the Town of Canaan for fiscal year 2018-2019. Copies of the spending plan will be available at the Town Hall prior to the hearing.
