Phyllis Nauts is a woman of intellectual depth and disciplined sensitivity. You see and feel both in her show of paintings, “Faces and Figments,” now at the David M. Hunt Library in Falls Village. 

Nauts was reared in New York City, went to both the Brearley School and Smith College then studied at the great Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris. For over 20 years she was a psychotherapist in New York and San Francisco. Her work with patients led her to her favorite art subject: the human face, both realistic and abstract.
