Extended holiday hours at the new Falls Village Inn

FALLS VILLAGE — Rooms are now available seven days a week at the redesigned Falls Village Inn. Single rooms and suites are available, and all include private bathrooms, cable television and Wi-Fi.

The rooms were created by interior designer and author Bunny Williams, a Falls Village resident, and were furnished with the help of Robin Cockerline and Pete Rich, who are Salisbury residents.

Rooms start at $199.

Work is about to commence now on the inn’s dining room. Meanwhile, the taproom is open and will have extended hours through the holiday season. Meals will be served from noon to 9 p.m. between Dec. 26 and  Jan. 2.

Regular taproom hours are Thursday and Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. (the kitchen is open from 5 to 9 p.m.) and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.

The inn is also accepting reservations for New Year’s Eve, with dinner at 8 p.m. for 40 guests. The taproom will open to the public that night from 10 p.m.

In addition to the regular menu (which features updated versions of comfort classics such as burgers, salads and macaroni and cheese) there is a special every night. On Fridays, for example, the tap room serves British-style fish and chips. The Saturday menu features steak au poivre; the Sunday special  is lamb chops.

Magic Fluke Ukulele Shop and True Wheels Bicycle Shop are not only under the same roof in a beautiful solar powered building on Route 7 in Sheffield, but they are also both run by the Webb family, telling a tale of familial passion, innovation and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.

In the late ‘90s, Dale Webb was working in engineering and product design at a corporate job. “I took up instrument manufacturing as a fun challenge,” said Dale. After an exhibit at The National Association of Music Merchants in Anaheim, California, in 1999, The Magic Fluke company was born. “We were casting finger boards and gluing these things together in our basement in New Hartford and it just took off,” Dale explained. “It was really a wild ride, it kind of had a life of its own.”
