Pine Plains BOE approves 12 faculty resignations


PINE PLAINS — On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Pine Plains Board of Education (BOE) bid farewell to several teachers and administrators who will be retiring from the school district later this year.

The BOE approved a motion to accept, with regret and appreciation, Maryann Stoorvogel’s resignation as director of Special Education effective Sunday, July 1.

“Thank you for your years of service,” BOE President Chip Couse said.

“It’s been an honor,” Stoorvogel said from the audience, and everyone rose to applaud her.
