Watson named chief of Millerton Fire Company, makes plea for volunteers

MILLERTON — When it comes to keeping the village and the town safe from fires, volunteers make it all happen. But more are critically needed, according to newly elected District Chief Jason Watson, head of the Millerton Fire Company.

Watson, who is serving as chief for a second go-around after a 2007 to 2014 stint, jokingly said it is “honestly — stupidity” that led him to resume the demanding office, before adding the volunteer job is really “all about helping the community out.”
