Appreciation: Morris Paley

On behalf of Emma Paley and the entire Paley family, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our many friends and neighbors who supported us throughout Morris’ illness and his passing on Sept. 8, 2010.

We are grateful for the many acts of service and support that made such a difference during this difficult time. The flowers, the baked goods, the many cards, telephone calls and notes meant so much to all of us. We feel so fortunate to live in such a caring and giving community.

We would also like to thank Dr. Michael Parker and hospice for the care they provided to Morris over the years and up to the end of his life.

Lesser, an author and co-founder of the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, interviewed Lamott in a conversation-like setting that allowed watchers to feel as if they were chatting with her over a coffee table.

As you walk through the downstairs rooms, you’ll see dozens of examples from her needlework sampler collection. Some are simple and crude, others are sophisticated and complex. Some are framed, some lie loose on the dining table.

Many of them have museum cards, explaining where those samplers came from and why they are important.
