Spaghetti fundraiser for soccer league president

AMENIA — Parents and coaches involved in the Webutuck Valley Youth Soccer League are rallying around David Stanford, the league’s president, whose home had a major house fire Oct. 3.

Stanford and his family were not hurt in the fire but have been forced to relocate for the time being.

Michele Adrian contacted The Millerton News to let the community know that there will be a spaghetti dinner benefit for the family this Sunday, Oct. 17, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church cafeteria in Amenia.
Stanford has been involved with the soccer league for many years as president and coach.

Dinner will be $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Ages 5 and under will eat for free. Anyone willing to volunteer their time for the event can reach Adrian at 845-373-9916.
