Ringing in the holidays

SALISBURY — Fireplaces crackled and exuded welcome warmth at The White Hart on Sunday, Dec. 3, and the lobby’s pine trees glowed with lights. Despite those soothing elements, there was an anxious, impatient energy in the air as children were herded with their parents to meet one man. It could only be Saint Nick, burly body bundled in red, who could inspire a bit of festive chaos, as the youngsters of Salisbury were invited to take turns joining him and his elf for a photo.
