Kent Hollow Mine origins are probed


AMENIA— In an effort to figure out what the permits can and should be for the proposed Kent Hollow Mine at the border of Sharon and Amenia, the Amenia Zoning Board of Appeals is digging into past uses of the property. 

Kent Hollow is appealing a zoning violation for being a nonconforming use. The town wants to establish a timeline — starting from the mine’s inception to the present — and  to see if there were any lapses in permits.
