SALISBURY — A small but hardy crowd turned out to honor veterans at a ceremony at the war memorial next to Town Hall in Salisbury on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. Down coats and fleece jackets were the outfits of choice for most people, but a few veterans including Ron Solan came dressed in  their military gear.

Jason McGarry, a Navy veteran and native of Salisbury, organized the event for American Legion Post 70. Even though he now lives in Mansfield, Conn., he heads up the Salisbury Legion post as a way to give back to a community he loves.
