Birch Hill approved — with conditions — in split vote

KENT — The Kent Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission approved Birch Hill’s special permit application in a 4-2-1 vote at the commission’s regular meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12.

Birch Hill is seeking to open and operate a for-profit 85-bed drug and alcohol detox and residential treatment facility in the building that was formerly The Kent at 46 Maple St.

The extended public hearing period was closed at last month’s commission meeting.
