Mad River Co-Op receives grant

WINSTED —  The Food Co-op Initiative of Savage, Minn., has given the Mad River Co-Op a grant of $8,000 to help move the creation of the co-op forward.

According to its website at www.fci.coop, the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization helps and gives resources to people across the country who are in need of resources to start co-ops.

The grants awarded by the initiative are part of its “Rural Seed Grant” awardees.

The initiative awarded a total of $50,000 to seven USDA rural qualifying startups, including the Mad River Co-Op.
