Services for seniors seeking assistance and company

Billed as “a social on being social,” a luncheon on Thursday, July 27, drew more than 20 seniors to St. Joseph’s Church in North Canaan to hear about the dangers of loneliness and the availability of local resources to help. 

The program was sponsored by the Northwest Corner Triad, begun in 1996 as a partnership between seniors, community groups, law enforcement and businesses. The intent of the group is to promote the safety and independence of senior citizens.
