Public restrooms and Welcome Center open in village

KENT — An opening ceremony was held on Thursday, July 6, to celebrate the completion of the new Welcome Center. Featuring public restrooms, an outdoor shower for thru-hikers and a water bottle-filling station, the Welcome Center is now open and ready for use.

In attendance at the ceremony last week were First Selectman Bruce Adams, state Rep. Brian Ohler (R-64), Chamber of Commerce President Tim Good, architect and Kent resident John Baker, Welcome Center committee members and contractors and tradesmen who helped construct the building.
