NORTH CANAAN — The Couch-Pipa Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6851 in North Canaan is a place full of laughter and camaraderie — with an undercurrent of solace and respect. Military veterans and their families as well as community members are welcomed with open arms by the 144 post members from surrounding towns and the post’s commander since 2012, Kirk Harrington.
