BOF will wait and see on education budget

NORTH CANAAN — Preparing for the annual public hearing on the town’s proposed budgets (scheduled for May 24), the education board at their May 11 meeting reviewed the education side of the budget, which totals more than $8.8 million. The total represents a 3.3 percent increase over the current year.

With the regional school expenses set at $4,470,963, the total proposed education budget for North Canaan stands at $4,425,872, an increase of $128,674 over this year’s expenses.
