BARKHAMSTED —  The Pleasant Valley General Store reopened its doors in late March.

Over the past few years the store, located on 111 River Road, has gone through various owners’ openings and closimgs.

The new operators are Fahim Nizar and Muba Hak, of Waterbury.

“I was attracted to the store because it’s a nice location,” Nizar said. “The people in town are nice. Compared to Waterbury, the people in Barkhamsted are much more laid back. We appreciate the community’s support.”
