Senior class wins Turkey Olympics

FALLS VILLAGE — The senior class won the Turkey Olympics at Housatonic Valley Regional High School Friday afternoon, Nov. 20, beating the second-place faculty 46-41 in the 10-event competition.

The team of seniors Brooke Kallstrom and Danielle Abo-Hamzy demonstrated superlative mummy-making skills, and Principal Gretchen Foster displayed a hitherto unsuspected knack for dancing the limbo (for photo, see Page A11).

All the classes made noise, but the seniors were the most disciplined and consistent in their cheering.

The musical chairs event was fiercely contested, with many players adopting a sort of “hop and crouch approach, the better to get into a seat once the music stopped.

Some are framed, some lie loose on the dining table.

Many of them have museum cards, explaining where those samplers came from and why they are important.
